Søndag 4. desember ble det arrangert en Vintage-turnering på Escape. Turneringen tillot 15 proxy-er, og elleve personer møtte opp for å spille.
Vintage er det formatet i Magic med størst dybde i kortutvalg. Det har tidligere vært en oppfatning av at formatet er dominert av tur én-seiere, hvor terningkastet er avgjørende for hvem som vinner, takket være de gamle, kraftige kortene som Black Lotus, Moxen, Ancestral Recall, Yawgmoth’s Will, Tolarian Academy etc.
I de senere år har derimot Vintage som format fått mange nye kort, og formatet endres fortløpende når det slippes nye Standard-kort. Dette er formatet hvor vi kan besøke gamle stjerner fra Modern og Legacy som Treasure Cruise og Dig Through Time eller spille kort som ellers ser lite spill som for eksempel Scab-Clan Berserker. Eldraziene har også vandret fra sin Modern-dominanse, via Legacy, og etablert seg som et godt budsjettdeck i Vintage.
Vi så i helgen et variert metagame, hvor kombo var mest spilt med tre ulike decks. Monastery Mentor-deckene kunne også skilles ved at den ene spilte Paradoxical Outcome og Fragmentize mens den andre valgte å ikke dyppe tåa i Kaladesh-poolen.
Av deckene som kan forventes å dukke opp i Vintage-metaet var Dredge- og Oath of Druids-deckene fraværende.
Resultat etter fem Swiss-runder
Etter fem runder swiss var det seks spillere på ni eller flere match-poeng. Det ble veldig jevnt og kutten til topp fire ble avgjort på tiebreakers.

Sluttspill
Finalen ble avgjort mellom Vintage-nybegynner Emil Moxheim på Jeskai Mentor og Vintage-veteran Nils Håkon Delphin på Thing Ascension. Vi gratulerer Emil Moxheim med seieren i sin første Vintage-turnering.
Neste Vintage-turnering på Escape vil holdes søndag 12. februar 2017. Aether Revolt er da sluppet og vi gleder oss til å se om det er noen nye kort fra neste sett som finner veien til Vintage. Vi håper å se nettopp deg på turneringen for å utforske dette sammen med oss.
